During the conference, LZPU successfully hosted the Thematic Forum on Vocational Education Going Global. Under the theme "From Vehicle Exports to Capacity Empowerment: Standard Export and Local Talent Cultivation in Automotive TVET," the forum brought together experts from industry associations, automotive enterprises, and vocational colleges to jointly explore effective pathways for the international development of automotive vocational education. Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC LZPU Committee and Vice President of LZPU, attended the forum and delivered a report, with Wu Xing, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering, serving as the moderator.
At the thematic forum, Vice President Qiu delivered a report titled "Maritime Ambition, Industry-Aligned Education: LZPU's Innovative Practices in Expanding TVET to ASEAN." Outlining the university's three-stage globalization roadmap—"Chartering the Ship, Building the Vessel, and Steering the Fleet"—he shared with international delegates LZPU's innovative practices in empowering corporate global expansion and fostering regional synergy. He highlighted specific practices across four dimensions: diversifying investment to co-build educational platforms, innovating the "one-enterprise, one-policy" approach to precisely meet corporate needs, sharing mutual standards to promote deep integration, and establishing alliances to cultivate a cooperative ecosystem. The report comprehensively showcased our achievements in supporting leading enterprises—such as Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd., SGMW Automobile Co., Ltd., and Dongguan NVT Technology Co., Ltd. (NVT)—in their global expansion, as well as our experience in customized talent development, technical services, and co-founding cross-border industry-education alliances.
Keynote presentations were also delivered by invited distinguished guests: Xu Haidong, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers; Liu Yan, Deputy Party Secretary of the Overseas Business Division at SGMW Automobile Co., Ltd.; Li Haibin, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering at Tianjin Vocational University; Su Qinglie, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering at Fujian Chuanzheng Communications College; and Song Guanghui, Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering at Jinan Vocational College.
Prior to the conference, China Education Television interviewed Qiu Fuming on the topic of "Standard Export and Local Talent Cultivation in Automotive TVET." Reflecting on LZPU's practical achievements presented at the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference 2026, he explained: "As Chinese automotive companies accelerate their overseas expansion and continue to extend production capacity globally, the internationalization of automotive vocational education is also undergoing a profound transformation. It has shifted from isolated program collaborations and curriculum development toward promoting the localized adoption of Chinese vocational education standards in host countries. The integrated export model we are exploring—combining equipment, technology, standards, faculty, and certification—is precisely the process of building a systematic and globalized ecosystem for vocational education."
In recent years, LZPU has actively engaged in the Belt and Road Initiative and proactively supported the global expansion of China's advanced manufacturing enterprises. Taking this forum as an opportunity, we will continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, expand international cooperation, and continuously refine our system for cultivating localized talent overseas, contributing LZPU's strength to the global development of China's automobile industry.
