LZPU's Achievements in International Expansion of Vocational Education Recognized by Ministry of Education's Official Media
From News Center (Text by Weiyan Education; File Photos) On the afternoon of October 14, 2026, Weiyan Education, an official media account of the Ministry of Education on WeChat, published an in-depth report titled "Building the Liuzhou Model: Guangxi's Liuzhou Advances the International Expansion of Vocational Education Through Multiple Initiatives," highlighting Liuzhou's innovative practices in leveraging its location advantages to expand vocational education internationally and support industrial capacity cooperation with ASEAN.
The article repeatedly highlighted LZPU's landmark achievements in the international expansion of vocational education, highly commending the university's pioneering efforts and outstanding results in strengthening cooperation with ASEAN, promoting industry-education collaboration, and improving the quality of vocational education across the ASEAN region. The following are excerpts from the original article highlighting the university's achievements in the international expansion of vocational education:
1. Liuzhou adheres to the principle that "vocational education platforms should be established wherever enterprises expand their production capacity." Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU), together with LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., efficiently established the China-Indonesia Engineering and Technology College in Indonesia, marking China's first substantive breakthrough in establishing and operating an engineering technology institute in the country.
2. To address the shortage of highly skilled talent who possess technical expertise, language proficiency, and familiarity with local regulations, a pressing challenge for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas, Liuzhou has adopted a customized training strategy combining "foundational education in China, workplace training overseas, and merit-based recruitment by enterprises" to precisely meet their needs and provide talent support for their international operations. LZPU has partnered with 13 equipment manufacturing enterprises to implement a phased university-enterprise joint training model, supplying more than 850 students to Chinese enterprises operating in ASEAN countries.
3. The teaching standards for the Mechatronics major and the AI General Education Course standards developed under LZPU's leadership have been incorporated into the curricula of 44 Indonesian state polytechnics and 137 vocational education colleges, marking a transition for Chinese vocational education standards from "being recognized" to "being adopted."
4. Liuzhou has developed the "Liuzhou Craftsmen Going Global, Skills Connecting the World" brand, using vocational education as a bridge to foster people-to-people bonds. Through mechanisms such as the China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance, Liuzhou regularly organizes reciprocal visits by teachers and students, joint teaching and research activities, and skills competitions. Vocational education has become one of the most resilient bonds supporting the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
The Ministry of Education's official media account also published an interview with Liu Zilin, Secretary of the CPC LZPU Committee:
At this year's World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, the Framework of World Vocational and Technical Education Standards (Beijing Agreement), the first international vocational education standard developed under China's leadership, will be released. As an institution deeply involved in developing these standards, we feel proud and honored to witness this landmark achievement alongside countries from around the world. LZPU stands ready to work with governments, educational institutions, and enterprises across ASEAN under the framework of the Beijing Agreement to jointly identify needs, develop standards, establish platforms, and foster a shared development ecosystem. Neither mountains and seas nor institutional differences should stand in our way. Let each culture celebrate its own strengths, and let all flourish together.
