Huai Jinpeng, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Minister of Education, attended the event and witnessed the signing of employment agreements between company and student representatives. Liu Zilin, Secretary of the CPC LZPU Committee, led a university delegation to the ceremony. The students of Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) who had won gold and silver medals at the World Vocational College Skills Competition signed employment agreements on-site with two leading enterprises, SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW) and Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd., marking a successful transition from winning awards in skills competitions to realizing their career aspirations.

The signing ceremony was a major event of this year's Championship Finals, aimed at promoting teaching, learning, and employment through competition and providing outstanding skilled talent with high-quality employment opportunities on the world's premier vocational education stage. At the ceremony, Peng Danli, Director of the Human Resources Department of Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd., and Liu Zuomei, General Manager of the Human Resources Department of SGMW, signed employment agreements with LZPU students on behalf of their respective companies. The student signatories were Lao Jiashuang, a Numerical Control Technology student and silver medalist in the Mechanical Design and Manufacturing category at the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2025, and Liao Liuchang, an Industrial Robotics Technology student and gold medalist in the Intelligent Equipment Application category at the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2026. Securing positions at leading enterprises before graduation, with gold medalists eagerly sought after by major companies, vividly demonstrated the contemporary significance of developing talent through skills and serving the nation with skills.

LZPU students' participation in the employment signing ceremony at the Championship Finals reflects the university's continued breakthroughs in skills competitions. In the qualifying rounds of the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2026, the LZPU team won five gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. Both the number of gold medals and the total medal count increased from the previous year, setting new university records. These achievements placed LZPU among the leading vocational institutions in Guangxi and among the top institutions of its kind nationwide. Earlier, at the Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition, the university's faculty and student teams won 13 gold, 16 silver, and 16 bronze medals, with its gold medal count ranking among the highest for higher vocational institutions in the region. LZPU also successfully hosted the Logistics and Supply Chain category (higher vocational division) of the qualifying rounds of the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2026. A total of 136 teams from across China gathered in Liuzhou to compete. The university received high praise from participating institutions and the competition's Organizing Committee for its high standards and flawless event organization.

Both SGMW and Guangxi LiuGong Group Co., Ltd. are long-standing strategic partners of LZPU. Drawing on Liuzhou's strong industrial foundation, the university has deepened industry-education integration and university-enterprise collaboration in talent cultivation over the years. It has incorporated competition standards into its curriculum, introduced authentic industrial scenarios into practical training, and advanced teaching reforms through the National Top-Notch Vocational Institutions and Programs Plan and the development of national-level major groups, continuously cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talent for local industries.

Building on this signing ceremony, LZPU will continue to transform competition achievements into teaching projects and integrate competition experience into curriculum reform. By further strengthening collaborative talent cultivation with enterprises, the university will enable more students to develop into high-quality technical and skilled professionals through learning by doing and practicing through competition. These efforts will help cultivate more highly skilled workers and master craftsmen to support Liuzhou's development of its "10+N" modern industrial system, its ambition to become a manufacturing engine of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt and a core hub of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and deeper industrial capacity cooperation with ASEAN. LZPU will continue striving for greater achievements in the advancement of vocational education in the new era.
