From News Center (Text by Qin Weiyin, International Exchange Department (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office); Photo by the conference organizer) On October 17, the closing ceremony of the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference 2026  was successfully held. At the ceremony, China's first teacher training center jointly established with a foreign government, the China-Indonesia Higher Vocational Education Lecturers Training Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"), was officially established.

The Center aims to implement the core provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in higher vocational education signed by the education ministers of China and Indonesia. Under the guidance of China's Ministry of Education and Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, it is jointly established by Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU), the Director Forum of State Polytechnics Indonesia (FDPNI), and the Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Forum (FPTVI).

Based at LZPU, the Center will focus closely on technological development and cooperative education needs in fields including artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, construction machinery, and communications. Working with FDPNI and FPTVI, which represent 186 public vocational education institutions in Indonesia, it will coordinate and integrate policy, technology, funding, and talent resources from the governments, industry organizations, enterprises, and educational institutions in both countries, and provide training, study programs, and exchange activities for Indonesian teachers. The Center will promote mutual learning between teachers from the two countries in vocational education reform, education management, and teaching practices, facilitate the sharing of achievements, and jointly enhance their professional competence and teaching capabilities.

In recent years, LZPU has adhered to the principle of aligning education with industrial needs. The university has worked with eight equipment manufacturing enterprises operating in Indonesia, including LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., SAIC-GM-Wuling, and CATL, to provide customized training for more than 600 Indonesian students and technical training to technical personnel on more than 8,000 occasions. By effectively integrating resources from governments, industry organizations, enterprises, and educational institutions, LZPU has implemented programs for Indonesian teachers, including trainer training programs and capacity-building programs, and has trained and certified more than 200 Indonesian teachers. These efforts have effectively supported high-quality cross-border talent training and have been highly recognized by Indonesian education authorities and vocational institutions. In April 2026, the Indonesian National Vocational Education Leading Group awarded LZPU the title of "Outstanding Partner."
